My Husband and I have two totally different styles when it comes to decorating a home.  I'm the type who loves a house filled with light.  I love the feel of a tropical home. I love the colors.  I love the way I feel when I'm in a home that reminds me of the tropics, I become more relaxed and energized.  I love the tropics so much we almost moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico once. Long story short, we were on vacation and my husband was offered 2 jobs.  Not to say it wasn't very tempting because we almost did it but I couldn't be that far away from my family.

My Little Man

With warmer weather coming I've been doing some window shopping for my little man's spring/summer wardrobe. Here are a few of my favorites from Carter's and Crazy 8's.  Not only do i shop at the normal stores for his clothes but I love finding him clothes on Zulily, yes you have to sign in but they have great deals and it's free to sign-up.  They always have cute different clothes that you can't find in the normal stores. 

Figuring This Out

So I'm still trying to figure this blog thing out! There are day's I'm not sure what to write about or weather or not anyone even enjoys reading what I'm writing.  I guess it shouldn't matter what others think because I'm doing this for me.  Its someplace for me to go and talk about what's on my mind or a goofy thing my son has done.  I have lots of insecurity's so it's hard to let it go but i just want to know I'm doing a good job, lol.

So how does one get past this?  I guess I'm just going to keep writing what's on my mind and what is going on in my life. Yes sometimes if may seem like a random thought to some but to me it's what's on my mind and what needs to get out or I might just go crazy. As I'm writing this I'm watching Long Island Medium and now i have an idea for another blog post, which i will be writing after I'm done with this. Then after I'm done writing it I'll just save it with the other I have already written and wait for the right time to post it.

Banana Cookies

So for my Bridal Shower guest where asked to bring a recipe with them.  One of our favorites is the banana cookie recipe i got from my Aunt.  It's so simple and the cookies turn out so moist that i don't even put the frosting on them.  I figured we enjoy them so much I would share with you.

Childproofing

So my bad parent moment of the week, my 2 year old LOCKED me out of the house! I had gone out to get the mail and when i tried to come back in Colt was at the door saying hi mom!  I guess I haven't noticed that he is now tall enough reach the deadbolt.  I knew he could reach the doorknob but never thought about the deadbolt.

We have childproof the outlets and the kitchen cabinets but never thought about the front door. So for the last couple of days I've been searching stores and online for places that sell a childproof deadbolt cover.  After looking at multiple stores i ended up having to drive across town to Babies R Us, the only store in town that sells it! So this morning I took off for the store and picked one up.  Once I got it home it only took 3 minutes to install.  It doesn't damage the door and it keeps our son safe inside and us from getting locked out by a little boy who loves to close doors and lock them behind you.

So for anyone out there who has a toddler or a soon to be toddler i recommend you getting one.  It was only $10 which is worth the piece of mind.

First time Blogger

So I have decided to start a blog! Am I totally crazy?  I sure hope not.  This is something I'm not sure if I'm even good at or if I even have anything to say.  That being said I have figured out that this blog will be a place for me to look back on and show our son things about his life as a toddler, somewhere to voice my opinion and show others a glimpse into our life and maybe some ways or items that i have found that have made raising a son a little easier. So I guess I'll start off by introducing myself.
